Some information about Pu Luong Nature Reserve

Pu Luong Nature Reserve is a nature reserve located in the two districts of Quan Hoa and Ba Thuoc of Thanh Hoa Province. It is about 165 km from Hanoi and it normally takes about 4.5 to 5 hours for the drive there.

The reserve has great biodiversity and it’s home to the minority peoples of Thai and Muong. The destination offers great choices for forest trekking, biking or hiking through the rice paddy fields, visiting the water wheels put along the fresh stream. Rafting could also be available depending on the season.

It’s a great place to have a cup of coffee or tea, overlooking to the great view of the paddy fields, the mountains and the villages

What will you see there

Various hiking options are available for all levels. You could pick up the right choice which suits you best, either a half day or full day.

How to get there and what is the best time to visit

There are few ways to get to Pu Luong, either take by public transportation or by private transfer of Shuttle bus from Ha Noi to Pu Luong. For our experienced travel, the best way take a private transfer to save your travel time.

There are two best times to explore Pu Luong that are from May to June and September to October

  • In the end of May to June, farmers start the rice crop in Pu Luong, you will see the large beautiful green picture of the terraced rice fields
  • In September to October, you will watch the yellow color terraced rice in harvest time.

In short, you can travel at any time in Pu Luong. The weather is cool there even in the summer time.
