    This morning, your tour enables us to see the major temples of Vientiane including the oldest, Wat Sisaket, a temple of thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. We aslo visit Lao national icon, That Luang Stupa, and we stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.

    The afternoon, we visit Carol Cassidy Weaving Center where you will be introduced to Laos traditional hand weaving. After that we transfer out to see the Buddha Park, an enchanting collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the Mekong Riverside meadow, near the Friendship Bridge. There are approximately 200 statues images dating back over 500 years, which were created by a mysterious monk spreading his philosophy on life and to reveal his ideas about the universe. A spectacular view of over the Mekong River at sunset is a perfect way to finish the day

    After breakfast, you  are driving out of the city on the road No 10, we make our way to Nam Ngum, a huge river reservoir created by damming the Nam Ngum river and flooding over 250sq KM of forest. Stop over at Ban Keun, Ban Bo, where traditional salt extraction plant can be seen. From there, visit Ban Pakha Nhung and other beautiful traditional boat strolling around the lake for 2 hours, offering locally – caught fish and sticky rice and variety kind of Lao food. We continue driving to Vang Vieng and arrive late afternoon.

    After breakfast, you will head to the Tham Phoukham caves, where your breath will be taken away seeing the beautiful limestone caverns surrounded by natural forests. Along the way, you have chance to explore the local cultures by greeting the local villages and learning about their daily lifestyle. Continue to visit Blue Lagoon for guest in a van, not a tuk tuk, where it is less crowed and guest will take canoe ride instead of visiting cave. Enjoy a picnic lunch while enjoying the scenery. After spending a day at the caves and the surrounding areas, we will make our return to Vang Vieng town, using local transportation or a tractor. En route, visit the ethnic minority villages of Hmong, Souay and Taidam villages while meeting the warm and friendly hill tribe people and observing their traditional tribal costumes.

    Leave Vang Vieng for Luang Prabang, stop at Pathang on the way, where you will be able to enjoy outstanding views over the mountains from the village temple. Continue by a mountainous and windy road with breathtaking views. This road is certainly one of the most beautiful in Laos. Stop at Phoukhoun with its lively market and fresh air. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant in Kiewkacham. Continue toward Luang Prabang passing traditional and picturesque H’mong and Kamu villages. Arive in Luang Prabang very late in the afternoon.

    Depart Luang Prabang at the designated jetty in the morning. Head upstream making your first stop at the remote temple shrine of Wat Done Khoun Nelemith, sitting 16 kilometers northeast of Luang Prabang. Surrounded by the Mekong River on all sides, this fascinating temple sees very few visitors and its only inhabitants are the monks who retreat here in search of spiritual enlightenment.

    After exploring the island, you will continue heading northwards towards the famous Pak Ou Caves. These ancient shrines are crammed with thousands of Buddha images of all shapes sizes and have long served as a pilgrimage for all, including the former Royal family. The caves sit beneath a dramatic karst formation about 25 kilometers from Luang Prabang. After the visit, you will then turn downstream and head back to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang. You will continuesly explore one of Luang Prabang’s most picturesque sights, the cascading Kuang Si Waterfall with electric turquoise waters. Depart on a 1.5hr drive south of Luang Prabang, swimming in the refreshing waters is possible, although between November and January the water temperature is very cool. Return to your hotel at late afternoon.

    The morning alms round ( called “ Tak Bat” in Laos) is a living Buddhist tradition for the people of Luang Prabang and dates back generations. Wake up before dawn to witness and participate in offering alms to a procession of hundreds of saffron – robed monks in the early morning light, truthly a spiritual occasion! If you wish to make an offering, please inform your guide a day in advance so that a gift of alms can be prepared. After the almsgiving, watch the town come to life during a visit to the bustling morning market ( Phousy market) before returning to your hotel in the time for breakfast.

    Please dress appropriately. Shoulders, chest and legs should be covered.

    This morning you will stay in town and visit the highlights of the old town including the National Museum (Former Royal Palace), Wat Xieng Thong temple and the Traditional Art & Ethnology center. The afternoon is left free for you to explore Luang Prabang on own or just relax.

    Private evening Baci ceremony at Pamee House – Baci ceremonies are an integral part of Lao culture, help to celebrate a special event like a marriage, homecoming, or departure. Laotian believe that a human being is a union of several organs, each one possessing a unique protective spirit. In order to strengthen them and to reinforce the harmony in human body, the spirits have to called forth.

    At the ceremony, a village elder will wrap a white cotton thread around your wrist while chanting an invocation to strengthen the power of the blessing. In Laos, white color of peace, good fortune and warmth. Enjoy this authentic experience in a UNESCO heritage wooden house located and enlightened by taking part in this fascinating traditional pracrice.
